Waking up in the morning is one of the tasks that most of us find really difficult, especially if you have to wake up early. There have been many types of alarm clocks to get you out of bed in the morning, but the Shock Clock is something even more interesting than all the different alarm clocks that you have ever seen.
The Shock Clock is a product that will wake you up in one of the three or a combination of the three ways that it can. It can vibrate, beep or give you a powerful zap on your wrist to wake you up. How it works is basically before you go to bed, you can set up the alarm on the app on your smartphone and then in the morning, the companion band will wake you up!
The main aim of the Shock Clock isn’t to shock you but to reprogram your brain using Aversion Therapy, which aims at doing negative reinforcement for your bad behaviour at any time. If your body gets a negative stimulus for performing any task, then the next time, your brain will automatically try to avoid that task.
The company behind Shock Clock, Pavlok, created a similar product two years ago that used electricity as a negative reinforcement, but they got a fair bit of negativity for their product, and now they’ve come up with this new product that will hopefully be successful.
The Shock Clock is available on Indiegogo right now for $79 if you pre-order one. If you don’t want to pre-order one, you can get one later this year for $99 when it is available everywhere. If you choose to back one up on Indiegogo, you can have it before everyone else gets a hand on it. This clock does seem like a good thing that will get you out of bed for sure.
While we talk about these projects from crowdsourcing websites, we cannot guarantee or vouch for their delivery or whether they would be successfully made or not, but they are among the coolest ideas people have got.
