Pebble is one of the early entrants in the world of smartwatches, but it still hasn’t done so much with the design of these wearables. The new smartwatch that got announced today, though, seems to have got a much better design, and a circular watch face.
The Pebble Time Round is the company’s new smartwatch, and as the name suggests, it is mainly about the circular watch face. Pebble Time was launched earlier this year, and the Time Round is the round variant of the same.
The 7.5mm thin body, and a weight of 28 gm makes it the world’s thinnest and lightest smartwatch. The watch comes in different band sizes, watch finishes and options for bands, and the band size is from 20mm to 14mm. For both the sizes, Black and Silver colors are common, while the 14mm band has a special Rose Gold edition.
While it is the same Timeline software that was used in the Pebble Time, there is polishing done to make it work perfectly with the round display, and there is no cut on the top or bottom. The compatibility of the software is with both, iOS an Android.
It is the always-on e-paper display with color that is being used, again just like the Pebble Time, and the watch is said to have days-long battery life, and quick charging which lets charge for about a day’s usage in just 15 minutes. The body is splash-resistant.
As for the pricing, the Pebble Time Round is priced starting from $249. The booking can be done at Best Buy, Target, and Amazon, and the shipping begins in early November.
