LG’s best looking Android Wear smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane now has a gold variant, named LG Watch Urbane Luxe, and this limited-edition watch is announced for the IFA 2015, where it will be showcased. The watch is made in collaboration with REEDS Jewelers, and it is made with 23-karat gold.
The watch is given a hefty tag of $1200, but you shouldn’t be disappointed at it as it does look classy and there are similar watches with no smart functionality priced higher than this. The Watch Urbane Luxe comes with alligator leather band and a deployment clasp, and just as deserved, the watch is packed in a exclusive piano-gloss lacquer case.
Limited edition it is, so you’ll be seeing only 500 units of the Luxe, and each watch will have a serial number engraved for authenticity. Since REEDS is the partner for this, the pre-orders will be available on its website, and one can pre-order even at retail stores in September, and the availability is dated for October 2015.
The only difference between the Luxe and standard Watch Urbane is with the design, or the gold material. The specs are entirely the same for both – a 1.3-inch OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, along with 410 mAh battery and an IP67 certification for water resistance.
“Wearable devices shouldn’t be thought of as an extension of one’s smartphone but an extension of oneself,” “This blending of craftsmanship and technology is a natural evolution of the smartwatch, which is becoming more of a lifestyle accessory than a piece of hardware. We think this is a good direction for wearables and we want to encourage this transformation.”
said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company.
The watch will be shown at the IFA 2015 event, and if you are visiting Berlin for the event, make sure you take a look at this.
