The tariffs for Calls, Data and SMS for Reliance Jio, the latest entry into the 4G LTE segment in India have been revealed. According to the Reliance Jio Starter kit posted by TelecomTalk the Base Call tariff plans available are Local/STD calls at 2p/sec and SMS at Rs. 1/SMS for Local and national and so on. For Roaming customers, the charges are as follows – 45p/min for incoming calls and 80p/min for outgoing local calls. Outgoing National calls are charged at Rs. 1.15/min.
SMS tariffs for Reliance Jio are as follows SMS will be charged at 25p/SMS for local SMS and 38p/SMS for National SMS and Rs. 5/SMS for International SMS. The Call and SMS tariffs from Reliance Jio are similar to what other telecom companies are offering, where they are going to give competition is in the Data packs which are quite competitive.
Data tariffs for Reliance Jio – Data will be charged at 0.5p/10kb or 50p/MB and the charges for Video calls is at 5p/sec. Apart the details from the Started kit we can see details about the Voice, Combo and Top up plans in the company’s JioMoney wallet App through which you can recharge Jio mobile numbers. The details about the Jio Mi-Fi device were revealed earlier, the device comes bundled with 40GB data for 90 days.
Various other tariffs and plans can be seen on the App giving a glimpse of the tariff structure which the company is going to follow. Two Friends and Family packs can be seen F&F Basic for Rs. 37 and F&F Gold for Rs. 38, the details about the pack are not clear yet. Reliance Jio is prepping up their Reliance Digital Stores to make SIM card verification fast by introducing digital processing of Customer Acquisition Form (CAF). To eliminate the need for physical document transportation, the stores are equipped with Jio Scanbox to scan the CAF documents with the help of a smartphone. This makes the customer verifications process fast.
