RCom has close to 5 million CDMA subscribers including their EvDO data cards and fixed wireless phones. Rcom has listed their first pocket router with 4G LTE called Wi-Pod which is similar to MiFi device by Jio having the pebble-shaped design.
The Wi-Pod comes with a power button on the front of the device along with 5 Led indicators for showing the LTE signal strength, uplink and downlink data transmission, wifi network, WPS and battery charge level. On the left a micro USB charging and connectivity port is present. The device supports FD-LTE on bands 5 and 3 (850/1800 MHz) and TD-LTE on band 40 (2300 MHz) and is capable of delivering downlink speeds of up to 150 Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 50 Mbps through multi-carrier aggregation.
One feature which is quite impressive is the support for 31 users simultaneously which is greater than even routers. The wifi network is based on the 802.11 b/g/n protocol and on the 2.4 GHz band only. The router comes with a 2300 mAh battery which gets 5-6 hours under normal network conditions and it might decrease if the signal strength is low.
