How to get Reliance Jio 10GB free data add-on for JioTV users

Reliance Jio entered the market with a bang last year and its primary take in the telecom industry was to improve the data offering. The company has repeatedly promised 20% more data over its rivals for the same price which has put the telecom operator in a lot of pressure to compete with the likes of Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea.

In a hope to please its customers and to stay competitive in the segment, Reliance Jio is offering a 10GB add-on pack to select subscribers on their network. This free data add-on pack is an appreciation from the company to those who use their Jio TV application to stream Live TV that is being offered for free right now. This was falsely claimed to be free additional data being given to customers on the occasion of Holi.

For eligible subscribers who get the pack, the pack will expire on 27^th of March 2018. As mentioned above, this is an automated add-on offering and only some users are eligible for it, for the eligible users it would automatically be credited. According to the reports, calling up the customer care or visiting the store doesn’t help in getting the benefits. However, a few users have reported that calling the 1299 toll-free number helped them get the same benefits. If you haven’t received any add-on pack yet then try getting the additional 10GB add-on pack by giving a call to 1299 toll-free number and the pack will be activated if you are eligible for it.

This add-on pack will be put to use only after the daily FUP is reached, for the Rs 149 pack subscribers the daily FUP is at 1.5GB and the add-on pack will be used only after you cross the FUP limit on a particular day. The add-on details can be checked by opening the MyJIo app and it should inform you about your current plan and any add-on packs under the ‘Current Plan’ section.

There are also a few additional steps that you could follow to get the 10 GB Add-on pack.

• First, download the Jio TV app from the PlayStore and log in with your Jio ID.
• Open a video on the app and watch it for about five minutes.
• Now go back to the dialer and call the 1299 Toll-free number.
• Check back in your MyJio app to see if you’ve got your add-on pack credited to your Jio Account.

This can be tried on the JioFi and the JioPhone, the JioPhone comes with the app pre-installed and the additional 10GB data can be a big boon over the limited per-day limit.
