In the past few months, we’ve seen Airtel and Reliance Jio go head on competing with each other to the best of their abilities, in a bid to counter the other major telecom rivals, Airtel has announced yet another combo plan for their prepaid users.
This new plan entitles its users of 300GB data with free unlimited voice calling and 100 free SMS per day at a price of Rs 3,999 and comes with a validity of 360 Days. This is one of the longest validity packs being offered by Airtel right now and comes with enough data to last the validity. The good thing about this plan is that unlike the Rs 349 and the Rs 399 plan, this plan doesn’t have an upper cap on the daily usage limit for data and you have the liberty to use your 300GB data as you like.
Along with these plans, Airtel has also updated their older Rs. 349 and Rs 399 plan. The Rs. 349 plan now provides its users with 1.5GB 4G data per day and 100 SMS along with free unlimited voice calling but the validity of this plan is still capped at 28 days. This plan from Airtel can finally compete with the offerings of Jio as it now includes 100 free SMS per day which was the only major difference in the offerings of the two companies.
Reliance Jio also has a Rs 309 plan that offers unlimited SMS and calling and also provides 49 GB of high-speed data over 4G and comes with a validity of 49 Days. If we look at the trend, we can notice that Jio is slowly trying to reduce the validity or increase the prices in increments that it doesn’t hurt its existing user base.
Coming to the Rs 399 plans from Airtel, the plan hasn’t changed much and offers 70GB Data with a FUP of 1GB per day and has a validity of 70 days. This plan also includes free calling and is a direct competition to the Rs 399 plan from Jio which has similar offerings but comes with unlimited SMS and access to the premium Jio Apps as an addition.
With this kind of competition, the end user is the major benefactor. This new Rs 3999 plan is a breakthrough in the Telecom industry as it doesn’t offer any kind of daily FUP which means that you’ve access to all your data always. This can be of great use when you are on a trip and need access to massive amounts of data while rest of the days you don’t end up using even 500MB of your data quota.
