Aircel is gearing up for the holiday season and has announced an affordable range of data packs which are first of its kind in the industry. Aircel has introduced unlimited 2G and 3G data packs which start from Rs. 9 and go up to Rs. 399 having multiple options in between.
These packs offer unlimited internet data feature to all the users even after they use up the data packs but at a restricted speed. Aircel is even offering unlimited data feature to all new customers without any additional cost. The speed which the user gets for the free data is restricted to 64 Kbps in 2G or 3G connection without any data packs activated. This is one of a kind initiative by Aircel in providing internet without any charges to each and every new customer.
The options available in the Unlimited 2G and 3G packs are Rs. 9, Rs. 79, Rs. 249 and Rs. 399. Each pack offers different amount of data and different validity periods which gives the users multiple options to choose from.

- Rs. 399 – Unlimited 7.5GB 3G/2G data for 15 day
There will be some clauses which come with these offers and these packs also come with some limitations. The Rs. 9, 79 and 249 packs comes with Daily Speed limits of 100MB/day and the Rs. 299 pack has 500MB/day high speed limit. This means the 3G speeds will come down after the daily limit is used up depending on the pack chosen.
Commenting on the launch,Sunil Kuttam, National Head – Data, Aircel, said, “He further added, “Today the screens are getting larger and connections are getting faster. We have witnessed an increasing demand for data especially for entertainment and productivity purposes. The sudden proliferation in online entertainment platforms has led to consumers spending more time on their smartphones than watching TV. Therefore, being a data focused company, constantly innovating with data products is the only way to stay relevant for our consumers. Aircel sees a huge opportunity to get more first time internet users on board as well as help graduate existing data users to faster technologies like 3G.”
The speed limitations per day might be a deal breaker for some heavy users who might use up more than the restricted amount each day. With the speed being decreased to 64KBps for the rest of the day is a let down for some high data users. But for most of the regular or low data users it is a great deal.
