Apple had announced the iPad Pro, its largest iPad till date at the earlier “Hey Siri” event, about six months back. It was well expected that today’s event might not have something related to this but might see a successor to the Apple iPad Air, as it happens every year.
Today, at the event when the Cupertino giant announced the new iPhone, there was another important announcement – the Apple 9.7-inch iPad Pro. As the name suggests, it is smaller than the iPad Pro, but not really small when we talk of this in contention with other tablet devices in the market. It comes with a 9.7-inch display size which is said to be the most popular screen size for the iPad’s with more than 200 million sold till date.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is said to be 40 percent less reflective than an iPad Air 2 and 25% brighter than the iPad Air 2. It comes with Night Shift support and True Tone Display. It is powered by the A9X processor and the tablet comes with four speakers. It comes with a custom-sized smart keyboard and it supports Apple Pencil. The design of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is almost similar to the iPad Air 2.
The new lightning adapters – USB card reader and SD card reader, it can be used with ethernet adapter or a microphone for added functionality. It sports the same camera as the iPhone SE with a 12MP iSight camera with Focus Pixels, True Tone flash a new image signal processor, Panorama up to 63MP and supports Live photos along with 4K video recording.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is priced starting at $599 for the 32GB variant and two other variants – $749 for the 128GB variant and $899 for the 256GB variant. You can order the 9.7-inch iPad Pro starting from March 24th and it will be available from March 31st.
