ARCHOS, the french electronics brand has been quite known to release a bunch of products just around any electronics event, and the announcements at the time of IFA 2015 won’t be a surprise. One of the first products announced by the company is the ARCHOS Diamond Tab with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Having a similar resolution to the Nokia N1 tablet and Xiaomi Mi Pad, the Diamond Tab has a 7.9-inch display with resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixels. Internally, there is a Octa-Core Mediatek MT8752 chipset (64-bit), along with MaliT760-MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB internal storage, and a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
While the tablet has a 5-megapixel rear camera, it also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity side, the Diamond tab supports voice calling and there is support for LTE connectivity with 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz bands.
There is a 4800 mAh battery included in the tablet, and the device supports Dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11 a/b/g/n), alongside Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
The launch date is set for October 2015, and the pricing set by Archos for the Diamond tab is £179, and the tablet will be showcased at the IFA 2015 event in Berlin, where we expect to see a few other announcements from the company.
