Microsoft is looking to take on the competition of companies like Samsung and Apple with their Flagship devices, with rumors of the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL doing rounds. These are Microsoft’s latest flagships models, according to the images and press renders leaked by Evan Blass, who is on twitter with the handle @evleaks the Lumia 950 is codenamed Talkman and the Lumia 950XL Cityman.
Coming to the specifications of the Lumia 950 XL, it sports a 5.7-inch WQHD (1440×2560) OLED display. It is powered by a 64-bit Octa core Snapdragon 810 SoC supported by 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB internal memory which is expandable with microSD card slot. The Lumia 950 XL comes with Iris Infrared Scanner for Windows Hello.
Coming to the camera, it sports a 20MP PureView rear camera and comes with triple LED flash beside it. The camera and the flash are positioned inside a projected camera system which is surrounded by a 1mm silver ring. the front camera is a wide angle shooter.
The Lumia 950 XL is powered by 3300 mAh battery which is slightly improved compared to the 3000 mAh battery in the Lumia 950. It comes with integrated Qi wireless charging and a USB Type-C port. coming to the design aspect the device appears to have a thick bezel surrounding the display making it look like a mid-range phone rather than a flagship. The right side of the device sport the volume rockers, power button and the camera button. The back of the Lumia 950 XL has the speaker placed on the right of the camera set up and the top and bottom of the device also has 5 holes, the purpose of which is not clear.
the front of the device comes with a 5.7-inch display and there is a huge space beneath the display and the capacitive touch buttons, this really makes it look bad and might increase the size of the device considerably.
Microsoft might be revealing these devices in IFA event being held in September, Berlin. This contradicts the October launch date which was rumored. We have to just wait and see the exact date and timeline of the devices launch date in any official update from Microsoft.
