The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge announced just recently have come up with a new application in the TouchWiz interface on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS, and that is the Smart Manager app, which has four important parts and it is good that Samsung is including direct options to manage the performance, security and battery conservation of the new smartphones.
Here are the parts of the Smart Manager app in Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge:
- Battery
- Storage
- RAM
- Device security

Battery manager in Galaxy S6
Battery section shows you the estimated charge and time left for use on remaining power, and along with that, the options to turn the power saving mode or ultra power saving mode on. There is also a section of “abnormal battery usage”, which shows up the apps that are using the battery more than normal, and lets you disable them in order to save the battery.
Storage manager in Galaxy S6
Storage section has information about the storage used and also has the options to clean the device storage where all the unnecessary data is cleaned. That is done by the Clean Master app, and there is a way to even clear the user data of the phone.
RAM manager in Galaxy S6
In the RAM section, you have all the details about the RAM usage, and information about the RAM consumed by each running app / process is shown up here. You can choose to shut down individual apps, or can “End All” apps at once if the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are getting slowed down unnecessarily. Under the detail section, you would be seeing the free, used and cached RAM.
Security Manager in Galaxy S6
The last one, i.e. the device security section is a very important one. Under this, you will be able to see if there is any unauthorized system change detected. Apart from that, there is “Separate work and play” section (for the My KNOX app to be installed if the user wishes to), and the KNOX active protection toggle which protects data of the phone and prevents the device from getting hacked. It also has the anti malware feature, and all this is powered by McAfee.
There is a device scanner as well, which scans the device for threats and lets the user know whether there is a problem. There is nothing special or hard to use in this Smart Manager app in Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
