How to update LeEco Le 1s & Le 1s Eco to Marshmallow Eui 5.8.017S

This is a major announcement made on the software side from LeEco, as the company has started rolling out the Android Marshmallow update for the LeEco Le 1s and LeEco Le 1s Eco. The smartphones have been running on Android Lollipop and have got EUI updates with few added features but now, finally, you will see Marshmallow based EUI ROM running in it.

The only requirement for you to update your LeEco Le 1s or LeEco Le 1s Eco to Marshmallow OS is that your device should be already running EUI 5.5.014S version, otherwise first update to that, otherwise the update will fail.

If you aren’t already on EUI 5.5.014S, you should follow these steps first before you proceed with the instructions below.

• Download EUI 5.5.014S ROM ZIP – Click here
• Backup all the data on your phone by any of the backup methods, or transfer all contents to your PC before you update. This is to prevent any accidental data loss.
• Make sure your phone has enough battery for the update to happen, or is connected to the charger.
• Transfer the file to the root directory of your phone and then use the System Updater app in the device. It will ask you to locate the update file and there you need to select the downloaded file for the update to happen.

Update LeEco Le 1s & Le 1s Eco to Eui 5.8.017S

The first thing you need to do is – Download the Update pack. Download it from here. (You need to be a member of the LeMe community for this).

Wherever you download the file, change the file name to update.zip and then transfer the file to your phone’s root directory by connecting it through USB or Wi-Fi.

Go to your phone and tap on System Update, then tap on the top-right button with the 3 vertical dots to see more options and tap on Local update to begin your upgrade.

So, the update will begin when you tap local update, but if it says that file is not found, check whether you had named the file properly. It should have .zip only once and not twice.

Usually the update doesn’t do anything to the file system but it is suggested to be risk free and backup your important data to avoid any problems that could occur.

The Marshmallow EUI ROM for the LeEco Le 1s and LeEco Le 1s Eco is official and working well and it has a lot of improvements and changes to the look and features of the interface.

Warning: Once you update your phone to the latest EUI based on Android marshmallow, everything in the file system will be changed and you won’t be able to downgrade from marshmallow to Lollipop later on.
