We have seen Carl Pei, Co-founder of OnePlus tweeting about the testing going on for the CyanogenOS 13 update for OnePlus One and within few days the company has started rolling out the Cyanogen OS 13 update based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for the OnePlus One devices worldwide. With the new update the company is bringing in many new features along with many bug fixes found in the testing.
OnePlus One will be getting the Cyanogen OS 13 update (ZNH0EAS26M) as an OTA update and OnePlus is also offering the OTA ZIP file with which you can flash it using recovery and if you are not that much into Flashing you can try the Cyanogen Update Tracker App in Play Store. You can use the above two methods to install the update if you are not receiving the update through OTA. You can Download the OTA ZIP File by going to this link.
With the new Android 6.0.1 update OnePlus is bringing App Permissions, Snap Camera based on Qualcomm Snapdragon camera, new SMS/MMS applications, Power Menu ability to swap System Profiles has been removed, CM protected app gets many new features like Fingerprint support for accessing protected content, protected App cannot be launched via Play Store thus improving security.
The Memory section gets a new screen to show memory usage over a selected period of time. The ZIP file for Cyanogen 13 can be side loaded via recovery on your Cyanogen Mod running OnePlus One, make not that it is incremental and not a full image which is available.
OnePlus has released the Oxygen 3.0 Marshmallow Beta update for the OnePlus 2 last week and with the OnePlus One getting the OTA update for Marshmallow we can expect the OnePlus 2 to start getting the stable version of OxygenOS 3.0 Beta based on Marshmallow 6.0.1 in the near future.
