OnePlus has started releasing an OTA update of their OxygenOS to the OnePlus 2, with some new updates which were promised by the company earlier this month. There are many improvements and fixes being rolled out in this Oxygen OS v2.1.0 OTA update. OnePlus has mentioned that the new software update is a “sizable” one that’s “full of bug fixes and improvements”.
The OnePlus Two devices which run on 2.0.2 version will be receiving this update. OnePlus says, that only a small number of OnePlus 2 owners will be getting the OTA update and if everything goes as planned, a broader roll out will start tomorrow.
The Oxygen OS 2.1.0 update largely seems to be focussed towards camera improvement. With the inclusion of some handy features in getting better photos. Let us look at the list of improvements in the camera:
- Manual mode included in camera settings
- For 3rd party camera apps which support RAW format, it has been enabled
- Color balance slider in display has been added for adjusting the color tone of your screen, this allows users to opt for warmer or cooler colors depending on specific requirements.
Apart from the camera improvements there have been other fixes like exchange support has been added along with the lag found in telephone services when switching between normal and Airplane mode has been fixed. There were complaints by users facing problem installing and using popular 3rd party apps on OnePlus 2 which has also been fixed. Along these major fixes all the other minor fixes for bugs will be made available with the update.
With OnePlus readying to release another smartphone, the OnePlus X into the market, fixing and perfecting the OnePlus 2 is what the company is doing first with the OS update. There has also been an improvement in the number of invites being rolled out after the recent apology message by the company.
The OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS v2.1.0 OTA update is 39MB in size and is rolling out to some users first and will be rolled out to all the OnePlus 2 users shortly.
