The Nextbit Robin has started receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marhsmallow update as the company promised back in March. The device is going to get additional changes from Robin as well, with the camera app getting the most important changes. The update will be available to Robin Nextbit devices as OTA update which comes with extended emoji set and Google’s April security patches. Nextbit has been prepping up to launch the Robin smartphone in India.
There is good news for audiophiles as well, the Nextbit Robin gets audio driver improvements, which enhances the audio out put from the front-facing speakers and the headphone jack. To get improvements in the audio department the company has worked with French audio firm, Arkamys. Adding to the Audio upgrades the company is offering two new ringtones designed by DJs Giraffage and Lauren Lo Sung, which can be downloaded from Nextbit’s forums.
The camera app has seen major changes with the new update, the apps is less cluttered making it easier to use. The slow image capture time problem from the device has been sorted with the capture time decreased significantly. The update brings in 184 new emoji along with the other updates. The company also mentions about the fine-tuning of hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chip to enhance the performance and also improve battery life of the device.
Nextbit has also announced their custom headphones from Aiaiai, it is a special version of the Aiaiai TMA-2 which matches the color of the Robin. Priced at $225 it is available from Nextbit’s online store starting today. The company has not included the feature to back up video captures by thr Robin to its cloud service. The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is available as an OTA update and will be arriving to your device shortly as it is being released in batches.
