Motorola and Android updates have always been timely, except for a few hiccups due to network providers and certification. One of the quickest to send major Android updates to smartphones, is Motorola. Even this time, we expect the company to roll out the new Android Marshmallow update to its flagship units any time soon.
Motorola is a go-to choice for many, thanks to the interface that is the closest to Stock Android, and there are some good Motorola apps added to help in a better user experience. And while Motorola did give a list of devices that will get the update, it is a country-specific thing, and the list could get bigger with time.
To start with, the original Moto X and Moto G won’t be getting the Android Marshmallow update, and the current Lollipop version they are running will be the last, and one can expect only some small bug fixes and security updates in the future.
What will be included in Motorola’s Marshmallow update?
- Moto Assist will be gone, as it is Do Not Disturb mode in Marshmallow, which is no different
- Motorola Migrate app is also going to be removed
- Moto Actions will now work along with Attentive Display
- Moto Display now supports music control for even third party apps
