Motorola has named the Moto X Style with different names around the world, like Moto X Pure Edition and has started pushing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to these devices. Moto X Style users in India and Brasil were the first to receive the update. Motorola had released a roadmap for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its devices last month.
Under Google Motorola phones were one of the first to receive the updates which were regular, under a new owner the updates have decreased but the smartphones like Moto X Style / Pure Edition and Moto X 2014 edition are being updated to the latest OS without much delay.
The update to the Motorola Moto X Style in India and Brazil was announced by Motorola’s David Schuster via a Google+ Post which read: “I am happy to announce that we are starting initial deployment of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for the following devices and channels: 2015 Moto X Style (3rd Gen) in both Brazil and India retail, 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) in Brazil retail”
According to the announcement the Moto X 2nd Gen which was released in 2014 will also be getting the Android Marshmallow update in the coming weeks along with the Moto X Pure Edition. The update will be sent out in stages and users will be receiving the update notification. The Motorola Moto X Style devices in India will be receiving the OS version 24.11.18.en.03 and is 651.1MB in size.
In the post on Google+, Schuster mentioned the changes being introduced with the new update like Memory Manager for individual apps, more control over individual app function, Google Now on Tap, Doze mode etc. With Motorola releasing the Marshmallow update to two of its devices we can expect the other devices mentioned in the list – Moto G 3rd Gen, Moto G 2nd Gen, Moto X Play, Moto Turbo and Nexus 6 to start receiving the update shortly.
