LeEco India is going to roll out an OTA update to its mid-range smartphone, the Le 1s, and this update is said to be thankfully fixing issues that users have been reporting, including the important ones like the camera and RAM issues.
The update is solely going to concentrate on the issues that are talked about by the users. Apart from the RAM management and camera improvement, there are some other major issues too that the company is going to address, and let’s see what it includes.
LeEco Le 1s OTA update expected changes
- Camera fix: The 13MP camera wasn’t doing justice with the captures, mostly in low light. LeEco is fixing that
- RAM management fix: The RAM used was much higher than what you expect, and even killing apps sometimes didn’t change the way RAM was used. This is said to be fixed
- Sound improvement: There was not really any issue for us but users have reported of poor sound output, which LeEco is said to be improving
- Prolonged battery life: The company is said to be working to enhance the battery life, which should already get better if RAM is managed well
Do you also have any heating problem with Le 1s? It usually is a case when RAM usage is improper, the background apps put a load on the processor and thus, there is a warm back on the phone for most of the time. Let’s hope that even this gets solved after LeEco sends the OTA update with the necessary fixes.
More importantly, if LeEco can actually fix and make the camera performance better, there is no reason for not recommending this phone to someone having that budget.
It will be the same EUI 5.5 with 5.5.008S stable release, but the date of that will change, indicating that this is the latest update. The last we have seen as the latest update is the one sent on 17th February 2016.

How to update your LeEco Le 1s to latest EUI version
Since we are looking at an OTA update, it is better to wait until the update popup shows up, or check for it manually by going to Settings > Other > System update, and tap on the refresh icon.
There is, of course, a manual way to update the LeEco Le 1s to the latest version, and the files for that are available at the LeMe forum. Once you download the files, you can update the UI by going to the same System update section, and on the menu there, tap on the Local update and proceed with it. We’ll come up with a guide of that, very soon.
In Hyderabad, no service center is available for my LeEco 1s mobile, which was purchased in the last year.
Further, the Toll free number is also not working. For any assistance in this regard, no information is available.
