Since the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release has happened, Google has already started pushing out the OTA updates for Nexus smartphones, as well as for the Android One devices. But several users might not be getting it, either because the regional updating might be late, or because they might have been running some other ROM on that device.
If you want to try out the official Marshmallow factory images and install the OS manually onto your Nexus smartphone or tablet, check out the following links below and download the files, then follow the Nexus Marshmallow update guide for the step-by-step instructions.
The factory images are available for the Nexus 6, Nexus Player, Nexus 9 LTE, Nexus 9 Wi-Fi, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi, Nexus 7 2013. There won’t be any factory images available for the Nexus 10, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 Wi-Fi and the previous Nexus phones.

As Google mentions, Flashing a new system image deletes all user data. Be certain to first backup any personal data such as photos.
While one can try and install the Marshmallow version on their Nexus devices, that isn’t a possible case for smartphones from other brands. Users just have to wait and see if the company decides to include their device in the list. Sony, Motorola and Motorola have given their lists though.
