The CyanogenMod community has announced their first Snapshot build of non-nightly CM13 based on Android 6.0.1 (r17) Marshmallow. The community released nightly CM13 builds based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow back in November last year for select handsets. CyanogenMod has released four different update scenarios for different devices and CM build versions.
If you are already on CM 13.0 nightly it is not recommended to flash the non-nightly build as you are already on newer codebase which is Android 6.0.1_r22 and Flashing with non-nightly build will result in device crashes. CyanogenMod community has announced the build for several smartphones including the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Android One devices, OnePlus One, Moto E (2015), Oppo Find 7 and 7s, Oppo R7 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 4, LG G2, Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi and 4G versions, Nexus 9, Nexus 10 and more.
The latest Android 6.0.1 (r17) Marshmallow is bringing many new features like fingerprint support to access protected content, Snap Camera – Some devices now ship with an enhanced camera app based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon camera. For devices that do not support the Snap app, you will retain the Camera2 app as in 12.1. Under memory, you can check memory usage over a selected period of time. New controls for Status bar icons, you can control layout and options directly via QS panel via ‘edit’ tile or long-press of settings gear in the pull-down area. Note: Users who are new to this, nightly builds are not stable builds and come with new features which are being tested and might have lots of bugs and are unstable. Snapshot builds like this one are comparatively stable and the final release build is the most stable of them all which reaches the smartphones officially.
