Coolpad, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer isn’t really talking about major software updates, so we don’t know yet whether its Coolpad Note 3 will be getting the Android Marshmallow update or not, but the company is keen on working on the current software and send bug fixes from time to time. That’s the case even with the new budget phone Coolpad Note 3 Lite.
Just after taking out the device from the box, you might see a small software update available, i.e. the V015 update for Note 3 Lite. Here’s how to update, and information on what is changing.
Change log for V015 update on Coolpad Note 3 Lite
It is a small update with size of 15.1MB, and here are the changes:
- Fixes CPU frequency issue
- Update LCD parameters
- Move RunInTest to User data
And probably some stability fixes are done in this update, and even though it doesn’t have any significant changes, it is always recommended to update the phone to the latest build version so as to remove any vulnerabilities.
The Coolpad Note 3 India is going on sale very soon on Amazon India, and so far, it is as good as the Note 3, especially with the same fingerprint sensor included on the back.
As for the Marshmallow update, there is no word from the company and we hope both the phones get the update in a couple of months, if not now. We’re still happy that there are regular updates being pushed to the devices, so that minor issues faced by the users are all cleared.
