Last week we saw Android OS 6.0.1 based Oxygen OS 3.0 released for OnePlus 2 and as OnePlus had announced earlier about the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 getting the Android 6.0 update in Q1 2016. With the OnePlus 2 getting the update the OnePlus one is in line and the same was confirmed by OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei in a tweet where he wrote “Marshmallow for the One is in the final testing stage. Can’t give ETA as it depends on other parties, but should be very soon”.
The update we are waiting now is the official Cyanogen OS 13 update for the OnePlus One. The company has released the CyanogenMod 13 nightlies update back in November last year and the snapshots for the CM 13.0 was launched last month.
Some of the updates in UI which we can expect from the new update are – New OnePlus Camera UI with features like swiping up/down now switches between photo/video, whereas HD/HDR and flash settings live in the top right corner, You can now change the aspect ratio and toggle grid view without going all the way to the settings, updates in the home screen and lock screen wallpaper settings.
We can expect the CyanogenOS 13 update for the OnePlus One to roll out soon, similar to what we saw in the OnePlus 2 where the update was a Beta version and not the OTA one.
