The Apple iPhone launch is on September 7th, not more than three days from now to know what is coming. But, thanks to the leaks all around, quite a few things are known already. There were days when you would never get to know what’s coming until the launch presentation happens, but these days, leaks have become common. And interestingly, these all leaks are mostly real and trustworthy.
So, what do we know about the iPhone 7?
New colors – The space gray probably is going to rest this time, as the consumers might have to welcome “dark black” and a glossy “piano black” color options. The Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold options are going to be there as well, so this time the users are going to get a lot to choose from when it comes to looks.
Dual-lens camera – According to KGI Securities that put out the information first, the iPhone 7 Plus is going to see a big upgrade with the camera module. A dual-lens camera is what we are going to see with features like optical zoom, and while one will be a normal lens, the other will offer wide-angle shots. Both the cameras will have 12MP sensors.
Removal of 3.5mm headphone jack – Lightning-enabled EarPods is what will get introduced and it will be interesting to see what Apple states as a reason for the removal of the 3.5mm headset jack, which is now off from a few devices already – LeEco Le 2, Le Max 2, Moto Z, etc.
Waterproofing – Finally, Apple is jumping in to offer a smartphone that is waterproof. Coming with the IPX7 rating, this is the same standard that the Apple Watch already has. With this, the iPhone 7 can survive underwater at depths up to 1 meter for about 30 minutes.
Non-clicking TouchID button – The Touch ID button on the front, that also works as a home button has to be clicked to unlock the screen. Now, Apple seems to be changing that and you don’t have to click on it but just placing the finger on it would be enough. Though it isn’t confirmed, nothing else too is and we are trusting the sources to be true about this.
Storage options – This time, Apple is said to be bringing the different storage options than how they did earlier. We might end up seeing 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants of both, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Apart from this, we could also see a better sensor usage for the 3D touch to work better and make the functionality of it better. Just three days more and we will get to know what all is true and how Apple has changed things from the iPhone 6s to the iPhone 7 series this time!
