Though the lock screen of the Xiaomi Mi 5 can have a wallpaper carousel automatically changing the wallpapers from time to time, you would surely love to see a screen saver working to make the experience even better, and see the phone flaunting some excellent pictures when the phone is sitting idle.
It might sure use some extra battery because of the display function, but if you still want to have a screen saver setup on the Xiaomi Mi 5, here’s how to do it.
Xiaomi Mi 5 – How to activate screensaver
Go to Settings > Display > System > Screensaver
There is a single toggle under it, which says that the screensaver will begin 5 seconds after display turns off. Turn that on, and you will be asked the very important question – which pictures do you want to have in the screensaver?
Select an album from the Gallery and you will see the wallpaper being set up and running just as mentioned after the screen turns off. The other options for screen saver are shown once you are done with the selection of the album.
Select whether to show screensaver only when connected to a power source: Although it doesn’t make much sense to have the screensaver on only when the device is connected to power source, some might be very conscious about the battery usage, and thus, Xiaomi has included an option for the same.
Set slideshow duration – You can choose for how long should the screen saver appear – 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or unlimited. You need to choose based on your battery as well because continuously having the slide show ON will eat a lot of battery.
The two options explained above are shown only when the album selection is done and the screensaver is activated. It is the easiest way to do so, and if you want to have some excellent pictures to be shown on it, better download some good wallpapers and set them under an album, which you have to select while activating the Screensaver function in the Xiaomi Mi 5.
