The Honor 6X is a perfect phone for the price, thanks to the great cameras and the good design. But with the better phone, comes a need for a good battery as well. The Honor 6X has a decent battery life with its 3340 mAh battery, which is enough to give a day’s usage but that isn’t guaranteed for everyone, because, with excess usage, we tend to give several apps such permissions that keep draining the battery.
It isn’t only the apps, though, as the general interface also takes in some functions regularly and use the phone battery. Now, if you want the phone to drain battery lesser, here are some tips that you can follow.

Close background apps when screen is locked
The background usage of apps usually eats up a lot of battery. You can reduce that by closing the background apps automatically when the screen is locked. To do that, go to Phone Manager > Protected Apps.
Now, in the list of the apps that you see here, turn off the switches for the apps that you don’t want to run in the background when the screen is locked.
Prevent background running apps from using data
There is a Networked apps manager that allows you to disable apps from taking up data when running in the background. Go to Phone Manager > Traffic manager, and then go to Networked apps.
Here, you will find two sections – System Apps and Installed Apps. Tap on individual apps and touch on the Menu button to configure which apps can use Internet while roaming. If you disable it, the next time you open the app, you will once be asked to give access to use the Internet.
Changes to display settings
Some changes to the display settings also help in increasing the battery life of the Honor 6X. Some of the changes you can do is – Disable daydream, turn off the indicator light, and reduce the screen brightness than to have the brightness sensor detect the conditions to keep changing the brightness.
Optimize Phone performance
The Phone Manager app would help get an optimized performance of your phone and here is how you can do that. Optimized performance saves the battery of the device. Again for this, open Phone Manager. Here, tap on the last option – “Remaining”.
Under the Remaining section, tap on Optimize. The phone will automatically check for the problems leading to power consumption and will automatically optimize the performance. Some issues need a manual attention and for that, you will need to tap on “Optimizable issues” and tap on View or Optimize to manually handle it.
On Low Battery? Use the Ultra Power Plan
This has too less to do with battery saving but the Ultra Power mode on the Honor 6X is something that will help you in the crisis time. When the battery is too low, the Ultra Power mode will disable most of the functions and keep only the phone and messaging options open for the user.
When on low battery, tap on Phone Manager and then turn on the Ultra switch. It will turn the mode ON and you will notice some changes in the interface.
There are some other basic changes that you can do and try to make the battery life better but the ones that we shared above would give a noticeable difference and a better battery life on your Honor 6X.
