How to Hide Files & Folders in File Explorer of Redmi Note 3

Privacy has always been one of the major concerns for smartphone users, because unless you don’t have things locked, anyone around you will have all access to your personal data. Though there is a Guest mode, a child mode, and such features included in the Redmi Note 3, you might not always want them activated but rather think that a few folders hidden would do the job.

The very good file manager available in the Redmi Note 3 has several features included, and one of them is what we talked about – Hiding of the files and folders. Here is what you need to know about it and how to hide the folders and files in Redmi Note 3.

Check for the File Explorer in the phone, and open the app.

Here, you will see file types on the top and then, a shortcut to view all the folders with the name “Phone” that shows how much internal storage is available. Open that.

Now, in the list of folders, select the folders you want to hide. Once selected, you will see the shortcut to options for them in the bottom. Tap on the “More” option and you tap on the option “Hide”.

If you are doing this for the first time, you will be asked to set a password. The password could be either the Pattern, PIN, or a letter / number combination. Once you are done with that, it will show a message that the files are hidden, and whatever you had selected, will get disappeared.

How to check for hidden files and folders?

Once the files or folders are hidden, you need to tap on the top right “Options” shortcut, and in the dropdown, tap on “Show hidden files”, which will show all the hidden files and holders.
