Micromax, taking the privacy as a larger concern, have launched their flagship Micromax Dual 5. As they say, this device is all about privacy and performance. It comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on the top. It has a whopping 128GB internal storage along with 4GB of RAM. To enhance the device’s performance and battery backup, there’s an app named Freezer.
Smartphones lose most of the battery and reduce performance due to the apps running in the background. Micromax has presented ‘Freezer app‘ to stop the apps that you don’t want to be running in the background. For example, Facebook, twitter, and most of the Social apps always run in the background keeping a check on you and your whereabouts. To completely kill the app and enhance the battery and performance, Freezer comes handy.
Having the app frozen means it won’t just run in the background and thus, saving data and not using any resources in the background. Sometimes, you might also worry about your data being shared with the app server. That too is stopped if you freeze the app.
Here’s how to freeze / disable apps on Dual 5
To freeze the apps that are using lots of background data and eating away your internet data, open the Freezer app and add the apps that you want to freeze. Once added, the apps will not be usable until you unfreeze them.
The Freezer app also automatically counts the period of the apps that you are not using frequently and notifies you after a certain period that you set. You can set it by opening the app > click the three dot menu > Statistical cycle and select the number of days you want to be notified about the apps that you are not using.
To unfreeze the apps that you have frozen, just click on the app that you want to unfreeze > Unfreeze or Unfreeze temporarily. By unfreezing temporarily, the app will again get frozen once you are done using it and lock the screen.
