The Oppo R7 Lite runs Android OS with Oppo’s own ColorUI that has a lot of options that the stock Android or the other custom UI’s don’t have. That is one of the advantages of using Oppo’s smartphones, and one important section in this is the gesture features that enhance the user experience. Check out the Oppo R7 Lite review we did, to know our views.
Following are the features that are seen in the R7 Lite, and you can access them by going to Settings > Gesture > motion. Here, you’ll see both screen-off gestures and screen-on gestures, along with motion perception and a couple other features.
Screen-off gestures in Oppo R7 Lite
These are the ones that you can use when the screen is turned off.
- Double tap to wake up: A very useful feature, which activates the screen when tapped twice on the turned-off screen.
- Draw O to start camera: When the screen is turned off, you can draw O on it to directly open the camera, without unlocking it manually.
- Music control: Certain gestures can be used to control music, i.e. start/stop music or switch between the songs.
Adding more off-screen gestures: The gestures are not limited here to the ones above, as the user can add more gestures with the given option. Upward and downward arrow, sliding up, down, left and right, and drawing M or W are the available gestures, and you can set actions like unlock, call a contact, or open a certain app for each of the gesture.
Screen-on gestures in Oppo R7 Lite
There are quite a few interesting gestures available to use when the screen is turned on.
- Multi-finger gesture for camera activation: Pinch close with multiple fingers on the screen will activate the camera.
- Double tap to lock screen: Just like the double tap to wake, here, you can double tap to lock the screen, but that is limited to home key – you need to double tap the Home key to lock.
- Gesture screenshot: On any screen, sliding up and down using three fingers takes a screenshot.
- Adjust volume with two fingers: Anywhere in the interface, sliding up or down with two fingers together helps adjust volume.
- Single-handed operation: Swiping from bottom left or bottom right corner towards the center of the screen helps activate one-handed operation feature where the size of interface becomes smaller.
Smart call gesture features in Oppo R7 Lite
Gestures are not limited to the off-screen and on-screen ones, but there are some that can be used for the calling functionality of the device.
- Easy dial: Whenever you are on contacts or messaging section, raise the phone near to your ear to automatically dial the number on the screen.
- Auto-answer by motions: When you are receiving a call, you can hold the phone near your ear to automatically answer it.
- Switch the speaker by motions: When on a call, you can switch from speaker to receiver by holding the phone near your ear.
- Flip to mute: Flip the phone to quickly mute the incoming call.
There are a couple other options as well, which helps in preventing any misoperations when the lock screen is covered. Pretty good list of options there included in the ColorOS of Oppo R7 Lite, and that’s a reason why we would usually call an Android phone as smart.
