Yu Televentures is all set to launch its flagship this month, after the parent company Micromax had launched the flagship duo, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro some time back. Teasing about it through a video, the founder of Yu, Rahul Sharma talks about “Redefining flagship” on the Yuplaygod forums.
The previous flagship from the brand that was launched not long ago was the Yutopia, which packed a 2K display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with 4GB of RAM, a 21-megapixel camera, and a 3000 mAh battery.
What will the next flagship have? Too early to guess because what was recently seen on one of the import listing website was a rather mid-range device with Snapdragon 615 Soc, but given how they are calling it as a redefined flagship, this should carry either the Qualcomm Snadpragon 820 SoC or the Helio X20 from MediaTek.

We might see Yu ditching CyanogenMod in this device, and with other specs, if the cameras aren’t changed, it isn’t a bad choice, though the display will still be a 2K one for sure. These are just speculations, though, and we will soon get to know about the official specs of the device.
What could it be named? Yuniverse? Yunight, or some other name? Yu Televentures will stick to naming the devices with the prefix “Yu” as they have been doing with all their phones. There is no exact date mentioned for the launch of Yutopia’s successor, but stay tuned and we might be able to share more information soon.
