With Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures teasing and taking on its competition with trailers and photos has officially announced the launch date of its high-end flagship device the YU Yutopia which is set at December 7th (now, it’s changed to 17th) at an event on Monday, the company has started sending out media invites for the event to be held in Delhi.
Update: Yu has sent an update that the launch date is shifted from December 7th to December 17th. This is confirmed by Yu’s founder Rahul Sharma.
In the process of teasing the company has unveiled a lot of the features about the YU Yutopia. The latest one being targetted at Apple in its latest tease, hinting the large battery capacity by showing an Apple logo with low battery and quoting “would you enjoy an apple that doesn’t last long?”.
The company also downplayed the OnePlus 2 about the lack of Quick Charge, hinting that the Yutopia will be having Qualcomm Quick Charge feature. The company also confirmed that it will sport 32GB of inbuilt storage taking a dig at Apple iPhone which still comes with 16GB variant. It also confirmed that the device will come with QHD display and metal build.
In September there was a Geekbench spotting of a high-end device from Yu called Yu550 which also seen at import/export manifest site. The Yu550 smartphone showed the following specifications like 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor (MSM8994) coupled with 4GB RAM. It scored 1353 in single-core test and 4622 in the multi-core test. It will be sporting a 5.2-inch QHD display and is said to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based on Cyanogen OS.
The pricing and the official specifications of the YU Yutopia will be announced on December 7th along with how it is going to be sold, flash sale format or invite based format.
