Yu Mobiles has announced the launch of Yu Yureka 2, a mid-range smartphone to be available exclusively on Flipkart on the Big Billion Day sale. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 11999 and while the specifications offered are decent, the Yureka 2 has one flaw that users might not like, i.e. the Android Marshmallow OS running in the phone.
Coming with the 5.5-inch Full HD display, the Yu Yureka 2 has a 2.5D curved arc glass and a metal body. Internally, the phone comes powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor and there is 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The chipset is seen on several devices that are doing well, including the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi Mi A1, Moto g5s Plus, and the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. The device comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. The camera app offers features like night mode, multi shots, and others.
One of the good features of the phone is the presence of a 3930 mAh battery and to support that is the Quick Charge 3.0 technology offering the fast charging support. There is a fingerprint sensor located on the back of the phone.
Everything said and done, the phone looks like a good deal for what is offered but in the end, Android Marshmallow OS will keep the users confused because it is Android Oreo update launched this year and many would have expected to see Android Nougat at the least. Also, we aren’t seeing any note that mentions about the availability of a major Android update in the near future.
While the Micromax Canvas Infinity was a good phone that came in with the price tag of Rs. 9999, the subsidiary brand Yu Mobiles had the Yureka Black challenging the Redmi 4 recently. Both of the phones had the Android Nougat OS running in them but the Yureka 2 doesn’t show any promises on the software front.
