YU has relaunched their budget smartphone, the YU Yuphoria for Rs. 6,499, which was earlier launched in May at a price of Rs. 6,999. Giving the device not just a price cut but also a revamp in the OS aspect, the new discounted Yuphoria comes with Stock Android 5.0 Lollipop in place of Android Lollipop based Cyanogen OS 12 custom ROM.
With YU recently giving out some teasers about their new smartphone the YU Yutopia which is being called the worlds most powerful smartphone, this surely has increased the interest of everyone in the device. YU smartphones have always been known for their specifications made available at competitive price points. The same can be said with the YU Yureka and YU Yureka Plus which is priced at Rs. 8,999 on Amazon available on pre registration.
The Yureka Plus has also got a software change with the Cyanogen OS 12 being replaced by Android Kitkat 4.4.4. YU has also done the same with Yunique which now runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and priced at Rs. 5,499. The rumored Yutopia is said to come with 5.2-inch 2K display along with another variant having fullHD or 1080p display and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor supported by 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage along with another variant of 3G RAM.
YU has set itself up in the budget category with the list of devices below the Rs. 10,000 range and with the new device YU Yutopia it is going to target the mid range segment or is it going to be the Flagship segment which is not yet clear. With the latest decrease in the price of YU Yuphoria the company is planning to take on the competition from Lenovo and Xiaomi which are its major competitors below the Rs. 10,000 price range.
