Yu Televentures has just launched the Yu Yunique smartphone, a budget device that competes the likes of Lenovo A2010 and Phicomm Energy 653, with a sub-5000 INR price tag in India. The Yu Yuphoria was already available for a price of Rs. 6999, but Yu chose to hit a lower price mark by making a few compromises.
It is the same display, same connectivity, rear camera while the compromises are seen with the RAM, internal storage and the battery capacity. Check below for the detailed specs.
The YU Yunique sports a 4.7-inch HD display with 720p resolution, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The mobile is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU supported by 1GB DDR3 RAM. It comes with internal storage of 8GB which can be expanded up to 32GB. The YU Yunique sports a 8MP rear camera with aperture of f/2.0 with LED flash and the front-facing camera is a 2MP shooter with 83-degree wide angle lens. The smartphone is powered by a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery which is non-removable. It comes with 4G LTE support along with other connectivity features like FM Radio, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi etc.
Looking at the specifications, the YU Yunique appears to be the younger sibling of the YU Yuphoria with a similar processor, and HD display which is shrunk to 4.7-inch along with reduction in the camera setup. The battery has also been marginally decreased in the YU Yunique. The internal storage and the RAM are also decreased, this device comes with 4G LTE support as well making it compete with the cheapest 4G smartphones in the market.

Unlike how the company has been exclusively selling on Amazon India since the company’s launch a few months back, Yu has partnered with Snapdeal for the sale of Yu Yunique, and the registration for the flash sale start today, while the first flash sale is on September 15th, at 12 noon.
