Yu Televentures is going to launch the next flagship smartphone, the successor to Yutopia on May 19th, and the smartphone will be called Yu Yunicorn. According to the invite received by PhoneRadar, the smartphone will be launched on the same day when Smartron will launch its t.phone in Hyderabad.
The name Yunicorn shouldn’t be a surprise as it was to be used sooner or later since it was one of the names that were selected when Yu had put up a contest for fans to suggest names with the brand name being its suffix.
The co-founder of Micromax and founder of Yu Televentures had teased about the upcoming flagship, claiming it to be redefining flagships. Yunicorn might come without Cyanogen OS, and there will surely be an inclusion of the Around service platform. Though there is nothing known, we expect Yunicorn to be coming powered by either Snapdragon 820 from Qualcomm, or the Mediatek Helio X20 chipset.
The launch though seems to be at the right time, when Xiaomi Mi 5 is selling well and OnePlus is yet to come up with its flagship OnePlus 3.
What do you expect from this upcoming flagship smartphone by Yu? Stay tuned for the live coverage and updates about the device on May 19th.
