Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 is the next mid-range device from the company that should steam the limelight when it gets launched. The Redmi series has been quite known already and the recent devices including the Redmi Note 4, and Redmi 4 have reached some good milestones. The next phone, i.e. the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is listed on TENAA, the certification website based in China.
As the device is listed there, we get to see several details of the phone already, ahead of its launch. The Redmi Note 5 is coming in with the new aspect ratio that has been picking up lately, even in the mid-range category with the likes of Micromax Canvas Infinity, LG Q6, Vivo V7+ having the 18:9 aspect ratio, and it will be the Full HD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels).
Along with the new aspect ratio for the display, the Redmi Note 5 is said to be coming with the dual-lens camera setup on the back, making it the first Redmi series phone to have that. Only the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the company’s phone yet to have a dual-lens setup in India. While it is not clearly mentioned, it seems that the new chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 636 mobile platform is going to make an appearance on the phone. In comparison to the Snapdragon 625 that is powering the Redmi Note 4, the new chip is said to be having about 40% better performance.
Not every other detail is listed out there yet, but we might see some in the coming days. The Redmi Note 5 should be an interesting upgrade from the Redmi Note 4, especially after the recent launch of the Redmi 5A, which the company claimed to have about eight days of battery life.
Xiaomi has been claiming big numbers in the recent times and the company, according to the Counterpoint research, has reached the second place in the quarterly results, and that is just 0.5% lesser than Samsung, who has been leading the charts for years now.
