Xiaomi has just started sending out early invites for a launch event in New Delhi on January 19th. Though the invite doesn’t clearly mention anything about the product that is going to get launched, it is expected to bring the Redmi Note 4 smartphone to India as the company has started Mi Explorers program early last month which ended recently.
However, the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 4 is powered by a MediaTek chipset; the Indian variant will come with a different chipset altogether, i.e. a Snapdragon chipset.
To remind you, the Redmi Note 4 was first launched in China back in August last year and was made available in two different variants, the 2GB RAM variant, and the 3GB RAM model. It sports a 5.5-inches Full HD 2.5D curved glass display and will be powered by a Qualcomm based chipset, however, the chipset number is unknown at the moment. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.
