Xiaomi has launched the next variant in the Redmi Note series called the Redmi Note 3. After a series of photos being shown over the past few days the company has officially unveiled the Redmi Note 3 alongside the Mi Pad 2. The Redmi Note 3 is made of all metal giving it a premium look and feel with rounded borders.
Along with the metal body, a Fingerprint sensor has also been added at the back of the device below the camera module in the Redmi Note 3. The device sports a 5.5-inch FullHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with Sunlight Display which is said to be a fully-laminated display. It is powered by a MediaTek T6795 Heli X10 processor coupled with two variants having 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage and the second variant sporting 3GB variant and 32GB internal storage.

The Redmi Note 3 comes with a Fingerprint sensor which is said to unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds. It is positioned below the Camera module, the device comes with full metal body and is thin and light with a thickness of just 8.65mm. Even with the metal body the Redmi Note 3 is just 4grams heavier at 164 grams than the Redmi Note 2.
The device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and Phase detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and a 5MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android OS based MIUI 7. It comes with 4000mAh battery which is a welcome change and it gives more than decent battery life. It supports Dual SIM with 4G LTE support.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in three colors – Gold, Silver and Dark Grey. The pricing of Redmi Note 3 is as follows – Redmi Note 3 2GB RAM + 16GB variant is priced at RMB 899, the 3GB RAM + 32GB variant is priced at RMB 1099. When converted to INR the 2GB variant is approximately Rs. 9,500 and the 3GB RAM variant is approximately Rs. 11,500. It is available in China and the availability of the device in other countries and India is not confirmed.
