The Redmi Note 2 Pro was spotted earlier with just its metal back displayed in a leak few weeks back. The latest spotting is on Chinese certification and regulatory authority website TENAA. A leaked image can be seen showing the hardware features of the device.
Xiaomi seems to be going with the policy followed by older smartphone manufacturers, launching device after device in incremental upgrades bringing new features. The company had already released the Redmi Note 2 Prime in August and this latest variant will most likely be launched alongside the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship which is expected to arrive in December.
There seems to be a lot of hardware improvements in the Redmi Note 2 Pro from its sibling, with the metal body and a fingerprint sensor which can be seen clearly below the camera and LED flash on the back of the device. In the Tenaa listing the front, back and sides of the device can be seen. It comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display and powered by a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.
The Redmi Note 2 Pro measures 149.98 x 75.96 x 8.75 mm and weighs 165 grams in weight. the Redmi Note 2 Pro sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, update about Marshmallow update.
At first glance the design has an uncanny resemblance to the Meizu style of design in particular the Meizu M2 with a similar back, except for the fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Note 2 Pro which will obviously be affordable will mostly be priced at Approximately CNY 999 or $156 to CNY 1099 or $172.
