Xiaomi is all set to launch the flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone in India, on March 31st. In the invite sent, with the tag “All you ever imagined, and more.”, the “5” denotes about the Mi5 as that is the only expected device to be coming to India after the Chinese company launched the Redmi Note 3 recently.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched in China about a month ago, and the company had promised that Indians will get their hands on it anytime soon. The smartphone that was launched at MWC 2016, comes packed with Snapdragon 820 processor (check the list of phones having Snapdragon 820), 3GB of RAM and storage options of 32GB and 64GB. There’s a Mi 5 Pro also, which comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, but we will have to wait to find out if even that will be introduced in India.
The device also has a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (the 4-axis stabilization), 4K video recording and F/2.0 aperture, and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera. The Mi 5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the only one from Xiaomi that has latest OS running, with the MIUI 7 custom ROM from Xiaomi. Check out the Xiaomi Mi 5 teardown to learn more about the internals of the device.
There are no details about the availability and pricing of the Mi 5, and we’ll update the news with more details as and when we get them. Stay tuned. Till then, check out the comparison between Xiaomi Mi 5 and LG G5.
