2016 was the year we saw some drastic changes in smartphones industry. It’s Xiaomi that raised the bar with the launch of Mi MIX; the smartphone that packs a screen-to-body ratio of 91.3% taking the things to the next level and way ahead of the competition. And, now the company is busy prepping the successor of the Xiaomi Mi MIX with the display accounting to 93% screen-to-body ratio.
Though Xiaomi suggested 91.3% screen-to-body ratio on the Mi MIX, the actual figure was somewhere around 84.16%. Considering the facts at play, the Mi MIX 2’s 93% figure could be well exaggerated and also given that we are still in the rumor stage, it would be a safe bet not to get too excited about it. With Samsung’s Galaxy S8 with infinity display coming and LG G6, Xiaomi needs to bring in their best game to compete with other major OEM’s.
With bezels getting slimmer and slimmer with every flagship launch, it’s quite clear that OEM’s have declared war on bezels and physical buttons. Just like the current Mi MIX, Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2 will also have a ceramic version and will be launched sometime later this year. Stay tuned with us as we will share every detail that we hear about the Mi MIX 2 in the course of its official launch.
