Xiaomi is long due to release their next flagship device, the Mi5 and just today there has been a device spotted on Geekbenk with the code name Xiaomi Gemini. Is this the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi5? surely seems so.
From the listing we can see that the Xiaomi Gemini is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8996 chipset which is the Snapdragon 820 SoC which was recently released by Qualcomm. The Processor which was uploaded on the site is Qualcomm ARMv8 @ 1.59 GHz 1 processor, 4 cores. The processor ID given is ARM implementer 81 architecture 8 variant 1 part 517 revision 1. According to the listing it comes with 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Geekbench points scored are for Single-Core – 2140 and for Mulit-Core it has a score of 4762. There are no other details seen on the listing, but looking at the latest chipset from Qualcomm being used this surely seems like the Xiaomi Mi5 listed as Xiaomi Gemini.
From the previous rumors doing rounds we believe the Mi5 sports a 5.2″ LCD display having resolution of 1440p and Gorilla Glass protection with 2.5D effect. Apart from the processor and RAM which are listed above it sports a 16MP rear camera and 13MP front facing camera. The battery is expected to be around 3000mAh along with quick charging option and Type-C port which is becoming a must have feature.
The above mentioned specifications are rumored specs which are not confirmed by any official source. If the Xiaomi Gemini is really the Mi5 then we can expect it to be launched around mid December. With the Snapdragon 820 already launched this leak also seems to hold true and if launched on the expected date, the Xiaomi Mi5 will be one of the first smartphones to be sporting the latest Snapdragon 820 Processor.
