While Xiaomi hasn’t gone ahead with any of the known flagships to launch in India, there has been a step forward into the gaming segment that has been seeing some activity from the other brands, as Xiaomi has officially launched the Black Shark 2 smartphone. The phone comes as a successor to the Black Shark Helo and it comes in with a number of unique features that enhance the gaming experience.
The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display and there is a pressure-sensitive display called Master Touch, and it is something like the Apple’s 3D Touch. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner for the additional security.
The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU and there is Snapdragon Elite Gaming, which includes features like Game Jank reducer, Game engine optimisation for the top 10 games, Game anti-cheat extensions, and Game Fast Loader and there is support for True HDR gaming.
On the back of the Black Shark 2 is a dual-lens camera combination that includes a 48MP primary camera with a 12MP secondary one. On the front, a 20MP camera is offered for selfies and video calls. For the connectivity, there is X+2 antenna and to keep the heating at bay, the phone is powered by the Liquid Cooling 3.0 that includes a TP Cooling module, Heat conduction copper plate, Large coldplate, Middle frame in medal for heat dissipation, Independent liquid cooling pipe, and a nanocomposite graphene layer.
There is a dedicated Live Stream mode with audio and video sync, and the needed tools to live stream the games, and it is called the Host Mode. And as is the case with most of the other gaming smartphones, the Black Shark 2 has a host of additional optional accessories to choose from and use to enhance the gaming experience.
There is a 4000 mAh battery powering the phone and it supports 27W fast charging.
