UMi Z is the First MediaTek Helio X27 Powered Smartphone

UMi and MediaTek apparently signed a deal and launched the first ever MediaTek Helio X27 SoC powered smartphone. MediaTek has introduced the Helio X23 and X27 chipsets back in December 2016, and UMi Z is the first ever device to power the Deca-Core chipset, but sadly it is currently limited to Chinese market currently.

UMi has done the same feat in the past by launching UMi Plus E which is the first ever MediaTek Helio P20 powered smartphone. The UMi Z is available via many Chinese e-retailers for $220 in case you wish to purchase.

Moving on with the rest of the specifications, the UMi Z sports a 5.5-inches (1920 X 1080) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio X27 SoC clocked at 2.6GHz Deca-Core processor Mali T880 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB. The UMi Z runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

It comes with a Fingerprint sensor on board for extra security. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. A 3780mAh battery is on board.

As we said above, the device is currently available only in China, However, you can still import it by paying few extra bucks.

  1. Both specs and looks wise it rocks! Sadly not available in India! Imagine if it’s available at $220 in India officially! It’d give a good competition to Gionee, Vivo, Oppo, Lenovo, MotoM, even Huawei!
