Sony at MWC 2017 has showcased not just the Xperia XZ Premium but also another one in the same series, named the Sony Xperia XZs. This is a smaller phone, and it packs many less-powerful specifications when compared to the flagship. Though, Sony has still managed to have the same camera combination, the same UI, and also the same amount of RAM on both the phones.
Sony Xperia XZs specifications
The Sony Xperia XZs sports a 5.2-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality, Dynamic Contrast Enhancer, sRGB 138%. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC Quad-Core 64-bit 14nm processor with Adreno 530 GPU coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB (Dual SIM) internal memory with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB. The Xperia XZs runs on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
Moving onto the camera department, the Xperia XZs features a 19-megapixel rear camera with Exmos RS 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive and Laser autofocus, 5-axis stabilization, and capable of recording 4K videos and 960fps slow-motion videos. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel shooter with 1/3” Exmor RS sensor, 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens, and it can record 1080p videos.
Additionally, the device features DSEE HX, LDAC, Digital Noise Cancelling, Fingerprint sensor for extra security, Water Resistant (IP65/IP68). Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (dual band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. A 2900mAh Battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology support is on board.
Price and Availability: The Sony Xperia XZs comes in Ice Blue, Warm Silver and Black colors and will be available from April 2017. No details about the pricing revealed yet.
