Samsung’s Galaxy S8 flagship is coming soon, though not at the MWC 2017 event because Samsung is just going to announce the date for a separate launch event and the things that have been found through the leaks include the removal of the “Edge” variant as the standard Galaxy S8 will have a curved display and a new Galaxy S8+ is going to be introduced with a larger display.
The leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks) who has been doing a great one at letting us know of what to expect, has put up a specification sheet of the upcoming Galaxy S8+ smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will have a 6.2-inch display, as we know it, with a 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution (Quad HD) and it will be powered by the same processor that powers the Galaxy S8 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 9 based on region).
The S8+ will have the measure of 6.1-inch at the rounded corners and as it has been with the flagships most of the time, the Galaxy S8+ will be having a Super AMOLED display.
Galaxy S8 Cameras – On the rear, it will be a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera (Don’t confuse it with the dual-lens system), while on the front, the Galaxy S8+ will come with an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter.
Other features of Samsung Galaxy S8+
- IP68 – Dust and Water resistant
- Iris scanner for more security
- Samsung Knox security
- Support for MicroSD card for storage expansion
- 4GB of RAM
- Samsung Pay support
- Wireless charging support
- Android 7.0 Nougat OS
- Earphones tuned by AGK
Some details are yet to be known, especially the battery capacity and if the phone has the USB Type-C charging port or if there is microUSB to continue what Samsung has been using most of the time. Not far from here, but we know most of the stuff about the flagship, isn’t it?
Having said that, I personally would be still interested in the Galaxy S8 that is said to be coming with a 5.8-inch display because 6.1-inch doesn’t suit my needs, and I’m sure many others will have a thought matching with mine.
