Samsung just launched the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge at the Mobile World Congress and everyone was really excited to hear what the phone has to offer. Samsung gave everyone just what everyone wanted in the smartphone. And now, just like I had covered for the LG G5, here are a few features for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge.
Great Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge feature a 12-megapixel primary camera, which comes with a Dual Pixel sensor, which provides better focus on images. Along with this, the camera features a F/1.7 aperture which should allow you to take great pictures in low lighting conditions. The secondary camera on the phone is a 5-megapixel shooter.
Thermal Spreader
Thermal Spreader is a technology that Samsung has come up with in the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge. This technology is a 0.4mm layer of liquid water inside the phone that will absorb any heat that the phone generates and then this water will convert into steam. This feature should allow the S7 and the S7 Edge to run cool all the time, even when under intense gaming load.
Water Resistance
Samsung had experimented with Water Resistance in their Samsung Galaxy S5, and that received a not so good response from the users. This made Samsung skip water resistance in their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. This year, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are both Water Resistant and can be submerged into water for 30 minutes up to 1.5 meters.
microSD Card Expansion
Expandable storage was also something that Samsung omitted in their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, but now are back in their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. This is a feature that is good to have, and this time you can expand your storage by adding a microSD card up to 200GB in capacity.
Awesome Display
The display on all Samsung devices has always been really good, and this time the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge are no different. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge feature a 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch QHD displays respectively with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The screens are Super AMOLED in nature and feature great colour contrast and saturation.
Battery
The battery in the Samsung Galaxy S7 is decent, whereas the battery in the S7 Edge is massive. The Galaxy S7 features a 3000mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge features a massive 3600mAh battery. Both the batteries look good, but the one on the Galaxy S7 Edge is amazing!
Android Marshmallow
Android Marshmallow wrapped in a lighter version of Samsung’s TouchWiz is something that people have been waiting for a long time. And this time, Samsung is offering that lighter version of TouchWiz on top of Android Marshmallow out of the box with the S7 and S7 Edge.
