The Galaxy Note 9 hasn’t even launched yet and rumors surrounding the next Gen S-series phone, the Samsung Galaxy S10, have already started to surface. The Korean Super-Giant is preparing for the launch of their next Note-series smartphone, the Note 9, which is going to launch next month, on August 9th. Amidst of this, rumors have popped, giving us some insights on what the next Gen S-series smartphones are going to pack.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Rumors
Triple Cameras
An alleged rumor suggests the top-end variant of Galaxy S10 is said to sport a triple camera setup on the back. The triple camera setup features a 12 MP camera with variable aperture lens, similar to the shooter found on the S9, a 13 MP telephoto unit with f/2.4 aperture, and a brand new wide angle camera. The wide-angle snapper is expected to have a 16 MP sensor with a f/1.9 lens on top and a super-wide 123° Field of View. It is said to lack both Optical Stabilization and Autofocus, similar to LG’s implementation on its flagships.
In-Display Fingerprint Scanner
Another report suggests, the S10 might pack in an in-display fingerprint sensor, similar to the one found on the Vivo NEX S smartphone. According to the rumor, Samsung is said to have developed 3 engineering models for the S10 called Beyond 0, Beyond 1 and Beyond 2. Both the Beyond 1 & Beyond 2 are expected to have the in-display fingerprint sensor, whereas the Beyond 0 has a side-mounted unit. The side-mounted scanner could be present inside the power button. The fingerprint scanner is rumored to cost USD 15 each which is seven times costlier than the usual USD 2 ones. Qualcomm will be supplying the in-display fingerprint scanners to Samsung.
If these rumors turn out to be true, then the upcoming Samsung Flagship could come close to be what might be the perfect smartphone. Nevertheless, the forthcoming Samsung flagship has the amount of hype and rumors that we usually come to expect from it.
