Samsung Galaxy Note 6 expected to get Waterproof and Dust proof feature

Samsung has been going up and down with Waterproofing and Dustproofing of their devices and then discontinuing the feature. The features were introduced in the Galaxy S5 and its successor, the Galaxy S6, and S6 Edge did not get this feature. But the company has introduced the features back in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the feature was updated from IP67 in the Galaxy S5 to IP68 in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge which is an improvement.

Everyone were expecting Samsung to introduce the Waterproof and Dustproof rating in the Note 5 itself, but the features were not included in it and with what we are hearing the feature will be introduced into Galaxy Note 6. The main factor which is making it difficult for Samsung to introduce the features into it is the Note series most valuable feature – ‘S Pen’. With the S Pen needing a socket for it to be placed in, it makes it difficult to make it completely waterproof and dustproof.

The other rumored features of the Galaxy Note 6 are a 5.8-inch 1440 pixels display or higher, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 or later SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. The storage options are expected to be 64GB or 128GB.

In Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge the IP68 rating helped in maintaining the waterproof and Dustproof rating without the need to close the ports. We are expecting to see the same IP68 rating in the Galaxy Note 6 with the S-Pen port secured to give complete waterproofing up to 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes similar to what has been included in the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
