Samsung has launched their latest 4G LTE smartphone in their Budget category J series, the Galaxy J2 which comes with ultra Data saving option to help in saving mobile data while using the ultra fast 4G LTE mainly focusing on Indian customers.
The Galaxy J2 comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA display having resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with a pixel density of 255ppi. The Galaxy J2 is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core Exynos 3475 Soc with Cortex-A7 and Mali-T720 GPU. It is supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal memory which can expanded up to 128GB using microSD card.
The device is said to come with an ultra data saving feature which is said to save mobile data by compressing all content like Videos, photos, audio files and even apps and websites as well. This feature is said to cut down 50% of mobile data on activating the ultra data saving feature. A similar feature was seen in the Opera Max browser which was launched in June.
Samsung India director mobile business Manu Sharma, said:
“The Galaxy J2 is an affordable 4G handset which has, for the first time, an ultra data saving mode. This is the first handset from Samsung with the new data saving facility developed in India,”
With launch of 17 4G enabled handsets in India by Samsung, Manu Sharma added “We feel India is ready for 4G. It is our focus and is critical for Samsung” The Galaxy J2 sports a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera. It supports Dual SIM (Micro SIM), it comes with all basic connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G HSDPA, GSM Wi-Fi, GPS etc. It is powered by a 2000mAh Li-ion battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 is priced at Rs. 8490 available in Black and White colors and will be available from September 21st. The previous J series devices being available only online the Galaxy J2 availability might be online only.
